Studio

Since her studies at The Juilliard School, Barbara Leifer has cultivated not only her performing talents, but also her teaching talents. She developed her methods in the studios of Daniel Ferro and Eleanor Steber at The Juilliard School. Later influences include Margaret Harshaw, Franco Iglesias, and David Jones.

Barbara has held studios and given Masters Classes in New York, Paris, Rome, Zurich, and Berlin.  Many of her students have later gone on to reputable conservatories, such as the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik in Berlin, the Paris Conservatoire, the Manhatten School of Music, and The Juilliard School.

With her well rounded musicianship and pianistic skills she uses "different pedagogical methods involving not only classical techniques of vocal training, but also theoretical and practical points of energy flow, body awareness, and relaxation. Her immense knowledge makes it easy to understand the functioning of both the voice and the body, as well as realize rapidly all kinds of improvements."

"Ms. Leifer always stays calm and enthusiastic in her lessons, very friendly and patient, without ever losing her concentration. She gives the feeling that she really cares as both a colleague and a pedagogue."
